This VA has been by far the worst VA that I’ve ever been to. You are treated terribly, when you try to request a transfer, they say all other primary care facilities in the area are not accepting new patients. The pictures below are from the nurse and myself, it’s 17 messages in total so I know it’s to much to post but I’d like everyone to know how she talks to people. Let me start by saying that I’m seen in the community, using community care for physical therapy. On April 27th they requested that I be give additional appointments for more physical therapy sessions. On May 7th I called community care and was told that the request had been denied. I messaged my nurse and these are just a few of her responses. I am uploading my messages so you can see how I talk to her vs how she talks to me. In addition, I’ve walked in there physically 3 times since the request was made and each time she assured me that it had been completed, she also asked me to stop messaging her because she only has 3 days to respond to me and she has to many patients to continue to respond to me. I asked on numerous occasions if it was for 2 consults because I’m seen for my neck and also my lower back. After be

You wait 40 minutes to talk to someone, but your call gets cut everytime your time is up.

After 20+ years I've come to this conclusion: Not everyone fits the protocols. Not everyone wants to help you. Sometimes, they put you through the same tests you've already had and ignore the chart. Continuity of care is hanging by a tethered thread. The attending at the walk in on 34th... is the epitome of "NEXT!" I saw her several times and each time she's had a different diagnosis for the same issue. She doesn't know what is going on. She doesn't listen to what you say or look at your history. "I think I remember you." I'd hope maybe... I was just here 2 weeks ago with exactly the same problem. Every interaction with her is excruciating. Some employees say they try to call but report the number as wrong, no answer, or otherwise and send a letter delaying care. I've got news... cell phones show missed calls. Even blocked/spam calls show in the call log. Why not leave a voicemail? Your primarily with make referrals but there's no telling if or when you'll get a call to make an appointment. I'm still waiting for 2 calls, and have reminded my primary, but no appointment, call, or letter since my annual in December. Now, other things are happening and I'm waiting for 2 more calls

I changed from the Biloxi VA to this VISN because the Biloxi VA is horrendous. So I drive from Panama City Bch to Gainesville for appts. I did this so that all my speciality care could be under 1 roof. My PCM is ok, endocrinologist, great, Neurology team is deplorable. Their listening ears apparently don't work at all and if I didn't get TBI from the IED, I surely would've gotten it from banging my head against the wall after repeatedly going round for round with these clucks. Thankfully I am yet again being referred out to another Neurologist within community care.

As an Air Force veteran, prior healthcare provider and current patient, I can definitely say this facility offers excellent patient service and compassion . After two open heart surgeries, a pacemaker and multiple other interactions this hospital has provided superior service and exceptional bedside manner. Our vets should feel blessed to have these services available. I once heard a veteran complain how it took 10 min for a nurse to respond to his call button. I wonder if they realize there are other hospitals in other countries that a "call button" doesn't exist. And unless there's a code, no one is coming around routinely to refill your water or check on your every need . Food for thought.... "I complained I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet". Be grateful for what is .
